Jackie is a dear friend of mine and I remember being in France over the summer and seeing her post that her son Richie was born pre-mature and was heading to the NICU. He was so tiny, and the first photo she ever posted my heart just melted for her as I couldn’t imagine what they were going through. If I remember correctly, I think she was around 26 weeks when she delivered him and he was around 1 pound. For the next three months their entire world was turned upside down as they lived and breathed in the NICU watching Richie fight to be stronger every day. He was a tough little guy from the beginning and so determined to fight for everything, he was incredible!
Jackie never ceased to amaze me as she never once complained about their situation and she did everything she could with a positive attitude. It was so inspiring to see them go through this as tough as it was for them. Around 90 days later little Richie was able to pack his bags and head home from the hospital, yay! I was so excited for their family and even more honored when Jackie asked me to capture this New York newborn portrait session. It meant the world to me to be there for them and I was so thrilled to not only meet little Richie, but to capture his very first portrait session. Isn’t he precious! I’ll never forget those adorable dimples and spending the morning with this sweet family. Their strength is truly one of a kind and there are no words that can describe the love and support this incredible family had from all over the world. It was so hard to choose just a few, but here are some of my favorites from their newborn session.
